A Team of Professionals

History

R&R Lotion started in 1983 as a family-owned business in Scottsdale, Arizona. From day one, the goal was simple: make skin care that holds up to real work. Today, we make skin care, hand hygiene, sun and insect protection, and ESD products for professionals across the country.

Made in our own facility

We formulate and manufacture in-house. Our facility holds FDA and EPA registrations, so we can make OTC products for our own I.C. line and for private label customers. In addition, our on-site quality and regulatory team brings decades of safety and regulatory experience to every batch.

Built for specific jobs

Our products are built for specific professions, not a generic consumer. For example, we make ESD-safe lotions for electronics plants, alcohol-free sanitizers for healthcare, and sunscreen and insect repellent for crews who work outside. We also teach. Our sales team gives lunch and learn talks on skin cancer, insect-borne disease, poison ivy and hand hygiene.

We stay close to the people who use our products, too. R&R Lotion belongs to ASSP, VPPPA, AIHA, NSC, APIC and EOS/ESD, and our team attends their trade shows and training seminars. That is how we keep up with what safety and quality teams need next.

Vision

At R&R Lotion, our vision is to provide industry-leading skin care and personal care products for professionals and their specific professions and industries. Our products are formulated to be safe and effective for use in the workplace, helping professionals get the job done while also maintaining their health and well-being.

In short, we want to be a partner, not just a product line. So we work closely with the professionals who use our products, the distributors who sell them and the suppliers who help us make them.

Our Process

We look for ways to cut our impact at every step. For packaging, we favor recyclable materials and recycled plastic and paper where we can. Our products are cruelty-free, and we keep aquatic life in mind when we choose ingredients.

Inside the plant, we work to reduce wastewater. We also clean with steam and biodegradable cleaners, and we have moved to more efficient lighting and AC controls. Finally, our power comes from APS, which has set a goal of 100% clean, carbon-free energy by 2050.

Our R&D team develops new products that solve real problems at work. Each new formula has to do three things: work well, run well on our lines, and meet what today’s buyers expect.

To get there, we meet regularly with suppliers and consultants. We also attend trade shows, visit facilities and sit in on training seminars. Then our sales and marketing team brings feedback from the field back to the lab. As a result, new products start with a real customer need.

We are also open about what goes into our products. Every ingredient is listed, and you can read what each one does on our key ingredients page.

Quality starts long before a bottle is filled. That is why we run a 7-step quality system that covers every stage, from the first supplier to the last shipment.

  • Suppliers: We vet each supplier and fill any gaps with published scientific data.
  • Ingredients: Every ingredient must pass our Approved Ingredient List before we use it.
  • Formulas: Our R&D team builds formulas that work and that we can make consistently.
  • Packaging: We lab-test packaging to make sure it is compatible with the formula, safe and easy to use.
  • Process and facility: We follow Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and keep equipment cleaned and sanitized.
  • Monitoring: We audit and lab-test on a regular schedule, and we check raw materials and packaging when they arrive.
  • Continuous improvement: We review our procedures often and fix what we find.

The result is simple. When you open an R&R product, it matches the one before it.

Our Commitment

Professionals count on their gear to get the job done. So we build products that solve real problems on the job, and we keep improving them.

We also believe education matters as much as the product. That is why we offer in-person training, online articles and handouts on skin health and safety. For example, our talks on skin cancer prevention and mosquito-borne disease help safety managers bring something useful back to their teams.

Every industry has its own hazards, so we design products for the work, not for a store shelf. Whether you run a hospital, a construction crew or an electronics line, our job is to help keep your people safe without slowing the work down.

We also make sure our products do no harm to the job itself. That means checking the effect on tools, machines, finished goods, processes and PPE. Where a standard exists, such as an ASTM method, we test to it. In addition, we run trials with professional partners and use their feedback to improve.

Our distributors bring our products to market, so we work hard to make them successful. Our partnerships rest on three things: transparency, fair pricing and ethical business.

Logistics and service

We also help with order cycles, inventory and shipping. And our customer service team is here for you and your customers whenever questions come up. In the end, our success depends on yours, so we keep the lines of communication open.

Great products start with great ingredients. So we source from reputable, reliable suppliers who share our values on quality, sustainability and ethics.

We build long-term partnerships on transparency, fair pricing and trust. We also audit suppliers and materials on a regular schedule. And when a supplier brings us a better technology, we listen, because it often leads to a better product.

We take our impact on the planet seriously. To shrink our footprint, we reduce waste, save energy and choose suppliers who care about sustainability too.

For the details, see the Sustainability section above. We keep looking for new ways to do better.
