Clean, restore and re-tin your soldering tips
I.C. Tip Tinner is for anyone who solders all day: PCB assembly and rework benches, electronics plants, computer repair, automotive and aerospace manufacturing, utilities, power generation and military shops. No-clean and water-soluble fluxes are hard on iron tips, and an oxidized tip moves heat poorly and slows every joint. Tip Tinner brings it back.
Dip the heated tip in and drag it across the surface. The tinner removes flux and metal contamination and the oxidized layer that keeps solder from wetting the tip, then lays down a fresh layer of tin so the tip transfers heat again. Ammonium phosphate activators and a surfactant strip the contamination, with no rosin, no halides or halogens and no splatter, and it leaves a polished, wettable tip.
It is RoHS compliant: below the RoHS limits for lead and the other restricted substances., and the tin is sourced from certified conflict-free suppliers. Each tin comes in an ESD can with an adhesive back, so it mounts right beside the station. I.C. Tip Tinner is made by R&R Lotion in Scottsdale, Arizona, in a 1/2 oz can and a 1-1/2 oz can, direct, through distributors and on GSA MAS contract 47QSMS24D0078.

Works exactly as expected, and left me with a very nice clean tip every time I used it. Cleaning with just water/sponge always left the tip a bit too cool, and the oxidization was starting to be a problem even with tinning the tip. After using this each time I used the iron, the problem resolved itself instantly. Love this, wouldn’t use my iron without it now.

Excellent product!! Carbon build-up on the iron tip is a pain in the butt, and it makes quality soldering damn near impossible. This product works immediately to restore the functionality of your soldering iron, and will save you from having to replace the tip. Just heat the iron up as normal, and clean the tip before dipping into the R&R lotion. One quick application will tin the tip, and have you back on the job in a jiffy! I would recommend and purchase again!

Cleans the tip, re-tins with silver solder. It works well, and puts a mirror-shine on a solder tip. That’s a pain to do with solder wire, and takes a few seconds with this stuff. It smokes like the end of the world (and the smoke stinks), but what can you do? The extra flux burns off any dross and leaves the tip ready for whatever comes your way.
I’m pretty sure I couldn’t live without it now. Buy some, and you won’t be sorry, if you do silver lead-free solder.

Makes re-tinning the iron easy as you don’t have to use your rosin-core solder and have the rosin eat the tip. Solder, clean, use this product, set into holder. When you want to solder again, just clean, add fresh solder, and work. Almost no smell at all and I do not find the odor that is does produce to be very offensive.
The product is very small and is filled to the top with the solid. Should still last a while though as you use very little of it every time you tin.

If you own a quality iron and have to pay for those tips then this is a great tool to keep the tips clean. will even clean up old RoHS black nastyness.
