Poison Ivy Prevention for Outdoor Workers

Good poison ivy prevention starts before your crew touches a single leaf. Poison ivy, oak and sumac all carry urushiol, an oil that can cause an itchy, blistering rash after skin contact. That is why NIOSH advises outdoor workers to protect their skin and wash exposed areas quickly.

Our three-step system covers each stage. First, apply I.C. Ivy Block before work to help stop urushiol from reaching the skin. Next, wash with I.C. Ivy Cleanse after exposure to remove the oil. Finally, if a rash still appears, I.C. Ivy Relief helps soothe the itch. For more tips, read our poison ivy articles or book a lunch and learn for your safety team.

IC Ivy Cleanse

Ivy Cleanse works to remove the oils (Urushiol) of Poisonous Plants from the skin. Contains moisturizers that gently cleans, leaving your skin feeling soft and protected. Formulated with micro scrubbers that help lift oils that cling to the skin. Regular bar soaps should not be used because they can pick up some of the Urushiol from the surface of the skin, move it around, and contaminate the skin. Upon leaving the contaminated area you should immediately wash off the Urushiol Oils.
