NSF certification is a trusted sign of safety in the food industry. The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) began in 1944 with a clear mission: to promote food safety and public health through strict standards. Today, people around the world recognize the NSF mark. In short, it shows that a product meets demanding sanitation criteria. For hand care products, NSF uses registration categories such as E2, E3 and E4. Each category defines where a product belongs in places that handle or process food.
NSF-registered products play a vital role in food safety. Here is how the three hand care categories work.
Because food industry workers have unique needs, R&R Lotion offers a range of NSF-registered products. These products support compliance while also keeping workers comfortable.
The I.C. Antibacterial Hand Cleaner carries the E2 rating for food processing areas. It removes dirt and grease and helps decrease bacteria on the skin. That way, hands are clean before workers touch food. The formula is gentle on skin but tough on soil, which makes it a key tool in high-risk areas.
For an added step, the I.C. Sanitizing Cream is an alcohol-free, NSF E3-registered product that also moisturizes. Ideally, use it after washing with an E2 hand soap. It helps decrease bacteria on the skin while it moisturizes. Unlike many sanitizers that dry out skin, this cream keeps hands comfortable for workers who sanitize often.
The I.C. Foaming Sanitizer is another NSF E3-registered product. Its quick-drying foam spreads evenly, so it suits busy food handling areas. Because NSF E3 requires no potable-water rinse, it also makes compliance simpler. In addition, compact dispensers fit easily wherever workers need them. See all of our hand sanitizers.
Finally, the I.C. Hand Lotion and the fragrance-free I.C. Cleanroom Lotion both carry the E4 rating. For example, use them in non-processing areas, such as restrooms or break rooms. These lotions restore moisture to hands after frequent washing and sanitizing. They also help prevent dry, cracked skin, so workers stay comfortable.
NSF certification is more than a simple seal. It reflects a commitment to public health, safety and sanitation, which matters greatly in the food industry. Manufacturers choose to submit their products to NSF for review. However, only products that meet NSF standards earn the right to show the NSF mark. For food handlers, this brings peace of mind, because the products they use meet industry requirements.
R&R Lotion’s I.C. product line shows why NSF-registered products matter in food handling. From the cleaning power of the I.C. Antibacterial Hand Cleaner to the moisturizing I.C. Sanitizing Cream, each product supports hygiene and safety. By adding them to daily routines, food industry teams can protect public health, stay compliant and care for their employees.
