A precise bead of flux at the solder station
I.C. ESD Flux Dispensers are 2 oz squeeze bottles for putting flux exactly where the joint needs it, on electronics assembly, rework and repair benches and in cleanrooms. A Luer-lock hub seals onto a UV-bonded 304 stainless-steel needle for a precise, consistent supply of flux with no unnecessary resistance to the operator.
Three needle gauges are color-coded so they are easy to tell apart: 26 ga red (0.009 in ID) for the finest bead, 20 ga pink (0.023 in ID) and 16 ga black (0.047 in ID). The dispensers work with flux, no-clean, water-soluble, rosin and acid solutions, and the blue bottle is static dissipative, with an average surface resistivity of 10⁹ to 10¹⁰ Ω/sq and an average static decay of 0.5 seconds at 40% RH.
Order FD-1-ESD, FD-2-ESD or FD-3-ESD, 50 per case, all on GSA MAS contract 47QSMS24D0078. Prefer a pen tip? See the 2 oz pen-tip flux dispenser. I.C. ESD bottles are molded from MDPE compounded with an ESD additive that gives them their blue tint and static dissipative property, and they are supplied by R&R Lotion of Scottsdale, Arizona, since 1983.
Features & benefits
- Dependable dispensingA Luer-lock hub seals tightly onto a UV-bonded 304 stainless-steel needle.
- Flux compatibleWorks with flux, no-clean, water-soluble, rosin and acid solutions.
- Color-coded gauges26 ga red, 20 ga pink and 16 ga black, easy to tell apart at a glance.
- Static dissipativeAverage surface resistivity of 10⁹ to 10¹⁰ Ω/sq, with an average static decay of 0.5 seconds at 40% RH.
- Supports an S20.20 programSupports an ANSI/ESD S20.20 program. The bottle does not certify a workstation on its own.
- Amine and amide freeThe antistatic additive contains no amines, amides or ethoxylated tertiary amine, the agent used in many other antistatic bottles.
- Durable MDPEMedium-density polyethylene is durable and chemical resistant.
- Grip-right materialFlexible walls give precise, even resistance in the hand.
- Leak-proof fitEach molding is fitted to its matching top and seals when closed.
- Into the ESD areaBring liquids and supplies into static-sensitive areas in a static dissipative container, and keep them within reach at the workstation.
- ESD blue, translucentThe ESD blue tint is easy to spot, and the translucent wall shows contents and fill level.
- Clean plasticMade with no BPA, PBDE, phthalates or heavy metals.
- Non-stick surfaceContents release cleanly from the plastic surface.
- Odor resistantDoes not hold trace odors or fragrances left by solvents and other chemicals.
- Top-rack washableWash on the top rack of a dishwasher and reuse.
- RecyclableThe material is formulated to be recyclable and reusable.
Uses (from the label)
- Cleanrooms and sterile environments
- Dispensing flux onto circuit boards
- Storing flux or solvents

This bottle helps keep the flux clean, controls the amount of flux you use and the flux doesn’t spill out if you tip the bottle over.

I nearly returned this needle dispenser bottle because the needle seemed to be missing when it arrived. It was inside of the bottle (I assume to protect it during shipping). I’m using the bottle to dispense cyanoacrylate (super) glue accelerator and it works very well for that. I have no idea of the antistatic properties of the bottle, but it works perfectly for my needs. This bottle is better quality than others that I’ve used for dispensing accelerator.

This FD-1 product has the narrower needle (26 guage) in this product line. I am using liquid rosin flux and SMD parts and am very happy with the level of control that the thin needle provide. Since this is a standard straight blunt needle, replacing it with new/clean or different guage should be easy (both slip and luer lock needles should fit, for lower guage numbers you may need to increase the plastic tip hole size but this should be trivial).
If the needle gets clogs, either heat it with the solder iron to soften the clogged flux or replace with a new needle, they are cheap.
