Static control at the bench

Built for solvent without the splash

The anti-splash (Purity) pump sprays solvent downward into the dish instead of up and out. Less splash on the bench and on the operator, in a static dissipative blue bottle.

01
Sprays down, not outThe pump directs the solution downward into the dish-bowl to minimize splashing and personal exposure.
02
Keeps the reservoir cleanA pump trap stops dispensed solution from draining back into the bottle.
03
Static dissipativeAverage surface resistivity of 109 to 1010 ohms/sq, in translucent ESD blue so you can see the level.

Questions ESD coordinators ask

FAQ

How is this different from the standard pump?
Both dispense about 2 mL into the dish and both have a pump trap. The anti-splash (Purity) pump also sprays the solution downward into the dish to minimize cross contamination and personal risk from splashing.
How do I fill it?
Unfasten the dispenser from the base, fill the bottle with solvent, refasten tightly and pump to prime.
Can I fill it with IPA or other solvents?
MDPE is chemical resistant, and in a seven-day exposure test with TCE, MEK and IPA there was no color or physical change. Check the ESD Bottle Chemical Resistance Chart for your solvent. Some ESD bottles degrade over time depending on the solvent and how often they are used. The bottles are not ATEX rated.
What makes it static dissipative?
It is molded from MDPE with an antistatic additive that contains no amines or amides. Average surface resistivity is 109 to 1010 ohms/sq, with an average static decay of 0.5 seconds at 40% relative humidity. It supports an ANSI/ESD S20.20 program; it does not certify a workstation on its own.
Can I get samples, pricing or buy through GSA?
Yes. Request a sample, ask about distributor and case pricing, or buy SD-4-ESD-AS, SD-6-ESD-AS and SD-8-ESD-AS through GSA MAS contract 47QSMS24D0078.

The details

Solvent sprayed down into the dish

I.C. ESD Solvent Dispensers with the anti-splash (Purity) pump are for benches where splashing solvent is a problem: electronics assembly and rework, cleanrooms and labs that wet cotton balls, swabs or sponges all shift. The pump sprays about 2 mL of solution downward into the dish instead of up and out.

That downward spray minimizes cross contamination and personal exposure from splashing, and a pump trap keeps dispensed solution from draining back into the reservoir. The bottle is static dissipative, with an average surface resistivity of 10⁹ to 10¹⁰ Ω/sq and an average static decay of 0.5 seconds at 40% RH. Check the ESD Bottle Chemical Resistance Chart for your solvent; the bottles are not ATEX rated.

Choose 4, 6 or 8 oz (SD-4-ESD-AS, SD-6-ESD-AS and SD-8-ESD-AS), 50 per case, all on GSA MAS contract 47QSMS24D0078. I.C. ESD bottles are molded from MDPE compounded with an ESD additive that gives them their blue tint and static dissipative property, and they are supplied by R&R Lotion of Scottsdale, Arizona, since 1983.

5 reviews for Anti-Splash Pump, Solvent Dispensers ESD

  1. Joe C. –

These little dispensers are, ahem, indispensable! I use them on my workbench to dispense solvents such as acetone and paint thinner, and in my bathroom to dispense hydrogen peroxide. My wife uses one to hold nail-polish remover.

In case you don’t know how they work, the top is a small dish-shaped container with a flip-down lid. Pushing down on the stainless-steel reservoir pumps the liquid from the (blue) bottle into the reservoir. The pump is easily operated manually or with a with a cotton swab. The value of these dispensers is that you pump only as much liquid as you need–for example, to moisten a swab. If the rest evaporates, well, it’s only a tiny amount.

  2. Ved U. –

I bought this a month ago at the suggestion of a cousin who worked repairing electronics in military helicopters. I use it to hold alcohol for cleaning excess flux off of freshly soldered connections (with an MG Chemicals 852 hog hair brush: http://amazon.com/dp/B004SPCXYO).

It’s stable on a work surface, works well, mechanically, and appears not to allow much evaporation of the alcohol (although I occasionally have to prime the pump if I haven’t used it for too long).

The convenience is priceless. I’m very happy with this unit and wish I had bought one several decades ago.

  3. MBNC –

Have been using this bottle for astringent twice a day for 2 years. Love it. Never leaks. Looks as good as the day I received it. Saves money because I can get the precise amount of toner I want without accidentally pouring out too much like I used to do. Would definitely recommend.

  4. JD –

Good stuff, works great for dispensing alcohol for cleaning PCBs and connectors of rosin.

  5. CDub –

I’m using one of these bottles for Isopropyl Alcohol, and plan to use the second on for Acetone. Pressing the top dispenses a small amount of liquid into the basin, and can easily be used to wet a small acid brush (AES Industries 1/2″ Acid Brushes) for cleaning soldering flux off a PCB.
